I am Russian and live in Ukraine. Here is a lot of Russians (about 8 million), so you may speak russian anywhere with anybody.
Moreover, I was born in en:Yalta—the town of en:Crimea conference. There is Roosevelt street in Yalta, right near the Lenin square :-)
I speak russian, ukrainian and english.
I don’t speak any italian dialect.
